
Textile Sector Powers Pakistan’s Export Stability Amid Global Challenges
Lahore, Sept 11, 2025 — Pakistan’s export economy held firm at $5.11 billion during July–August FY 2025–26, despite global headwinds, according to a high-level review chaired by the Minister for Commerce. The textile and apparel sector led the charge, posting a robust 10% growth and reaffirming its role as the backbone of national trade.
The meeting spotlighted regional gains, with exports to Africa rising 9% and South Asia up 7%. North America and the EU remained stable, reflecting strategic efforts to diversify markets while strengthening traditional ones.
Commending exporters for their resilience, the Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to expanding market access, supporting the business community, and driving sustainable trade growth. The Ministry pledged to build a competitive, diversified export sector aligned with Pakistan’s broader economic and employment goals.
