Punjab Government Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Plastic Bags
In a major move against environmental violations, the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Rawalpindi confiscated around 4,000 kilograms of non-compliant plastic bags during a raid in Dhoke Mangtal. These bags, found in a warehouse on Railway Workshop Road, failed to meet the legally required thickness of 75 microns.
Following the operation, the seized plastic materials were handed over to the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation for appropriate disposal. EPA officials emphasized that this action is part of Punjab’s strict zero-tolerance policy against environmental hazards, with authorities committed to taking further measures against businesses contributing to pollution.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to curb environmental degradation and enforce regulations aimed at sustainability.
