SBP Promotes Digital Transactions with Nationwide “Go Cashless” Drive for Eid-ul-Azha
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched a “Go Cashless” campaign to encourage digital payments during Eid-ul-Azha, reducing reliance on cash transactions in cattle markets nationwide. Running from May 20 to June 6, 2025, the initiative aims to boost financial inclusion and streamline payments for merchants and buyers.
Partnering with the banking industry, SBP is facilitating digital transactions in 54 designated cattle markets, allowing buyers to purchase sacrificial animals, pay for essentials like feed and water, and settle parking fees using secure digital payment solutions.
To further enhance accessibility, SBP has temporarily increased transaction limits from May 19 to June 15, 2025:
🔹 Branchless Banking Level-1, Asaan, Asaan Digital, and Merchant Accounts
🔹 No daily transaction limits
🔹 Per-month limit raised to PKR 5,000,000
By embracing digital payments, Pakistan moves closer to a more efficient and financially inclusive economy. The public is encouraged to take advantage of secure, convenient digital financial services this Eid-ul-Azha
