Pakistani Pine Nuts Exports to China Skyrocket by 128% in 2024
In an impressive leap, Pakistani pine nut exports to China surged by 128% in 2024, reaching $18.78 million, up from $8.22 million in 2023. According to data from China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), China imported 981.64 tons of these prized nuts, solidifying its position as one of the largest markets for Pakistan’s pine nuts.
The significant growth is attributed to the exceptional taste and premium quality of Pakistani pine nuts, as highlighted by Yar Muhammad Niaz, Chief Executive of a leading food company in Hangzhou. E-commerce platforms also played a crucial role in boosting their popularity across China. In Chinese culture, pine nuts are more than just a snack—they symbolize health, prosperity, and longevity, making them a popular gift for Chinese New Year and other traditional festivals.
