Pakistan Enhances Passport Services with High-Speed Printers

Pakistan has significantly improved its passport issuance system by introducing advanced equipment in Karachi. The new additions include two e-passport printers and six desktop printers imported from Germany, with a foreign technical team supervising the installation process.

The Director-General of Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, recently visited the site to review progress and emphasized that the new machines can produce up to 1,000 passports per hour, promising a major boost in efficiency. Once operational, these enhancements are expected to expedite the application process and improve the overall experience for citizens.

This development follows the department's previous upgrade, which saw the introduction of 10 modern printers, doubling the daily passport production capacity from 20,000 to 40,000. The latest additions aim to further minimize delays and benefit thousands of applicants, especially those planning to travel abroad. These advancements underline Pakistan's commitment to delivering exceptional passport services.
