Pakistan’s IT Firms Make First-Ever Entry into Kuwaiti Market
Pakistan’s IT sector has officially made its debut in Kuwait, marking a significant milestone in expanding its digital footprint across the Gulf region.
A delegation of 17 top-tier Pakistani tech companies, under the leadership of the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), participated in the Pakistan-Kuwait Tech Conference 2025—a two-day event held in Kuwait and jointly organized by the Pakistani Embassy and the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).
Historically, Kuwait has remained out of reach for Pakistani IT firms due to stringent visa policies. However, recent easing of restrictions for Pakistani professionals has paved the way for entry into Kuwait’s booming ICT sector, currently valued at $22.48 billion and expected to reach $39.83 billion by the end of 2025.
PSEB CEO Abu Bakar described the conference as a gateway to long-term partnerships in technology, trade, and investment between the two nations. Participating companies showcased cutting-edge solutions in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, healthtech, agritech, and enterprise software. Notable names included 10Pearls, TPS Worldwide, Abacus Consulting, Systems Limited, and Digifloat.
Muhammad Zohaib Khan, CEO of A2Z Creators, called the visit historic, emphasizing its significance as the first delegation following visa facilitation. He highlighted Kuwait’s Vision 2035 as a major opportunity for Pakistani firms to support the country’s digital transformation and economic diversification.
Echoing this sentiment, PASHA Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam noted that Pakistan’s IT exporters are now entering Kuwait just as they have successfully expanded into Saudi Arabia and the UAE. He stressed the importance of exploring new markets while Pakistan’s global reputation in tech and defense remains strong.
The conference also drew attention from key Kuwaiti officials, including Aseel Al-Munifi (Undersecretary, Ministry for Economic Affairs and Investment), Dr. Khaled Mohammad Al Zamel (Chairman, CITRA), Najat Hussain Ebrahim Hamad (Acting GM, CAIT), and Athbi Jaber Al-Sabah (Head of Strategy, Planning & Governance).
Currently, Kuwait exports over $2 billion worth of goods to Pakistan annually—primarily petroleum products—while Pakistan’s exports to Kuwait stand at around $200 million. Experts believe the inclusion of IT and digital services could help bridge this trade gap and strengthen bilateral ties.
The Pakistan-Kuwait Tech Conference 2025 is being hailed as a breakthrough moment for Pakistan’s tech industry, unlocking a new and promising market in the Gulf.
