Microsoft has just leveled up its Copilot AI assistant by offering unlimited access to two powerful features, Voice and Think Deeper, at no cost. This move is set to democratize advanced AI capabilities, making them accessible to all users without subscription fees.

The Think Deeper feature, powered by OpenAI’s o1 model, is designed to handle complex inquiries such as evaluating the pros and cons of major household purchases, considering both immediate costs and long-term value. The Voice feature, launched in October 2024, enables seamless conversational interactions with the AI assistant, enhancing user experience.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft stated, "We are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible."

However, Microsoft has cautioned that these newly free features may experience performance issues during peak demand times. Users might encounter delays or service interruptions when system usage is high. Despite this broader access, Copilot Pro subscribers will continue to enjoy priority access to the most advanced AI models during busy periods.

Pro subscribers also retain exclusive rights to experimental features still under development, ensuring they have the latest advancements first. This tiered approach allows Microsoft to balance wider accessibility while maintaining incentives for premium subscriptions, clearly distinguishing between free and paid service levels even as core functionalities become more widely available.
