AliExpress Suspends Budget Shipping to Pakistan Amid Customs Crackdown
AliExpress has suspended several low-cost shipping options to Pakistan following new customs regulations that have disrupted affordable cross-border logistics. The move stems from recent tax reforms introduced by customs authorities in both Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
In a notice to sellers, AliExpress cited “unclear tax requirements” as the reason for shifting to offline processing for shipments to Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The change, effective July 7, 2025, will prevent sellers from using previously available budget-friendly shipping methods like AliExpress Standard Shipping and Cainiao.
What’s Changing:
- Pakistani buyers will no longer have access to low-cost delivery options.
- Sellers must update their logistics templates to comply with the new restrictions.
- The crackdown targets undervalued shipments that previously bypassed full customs duties.
This marks a significant shift for Pakistan’s e-commerce landscape, where affordable shipping had made platforms like AliExpress highly attractive to cost-conscious consumers. Without a clear timeline for resolution, the suspension could become a long-term disruption unless customs policies are clarified or revised.
AliExpress has urged sellers to stay informed and adjust their shipping strategies accordingly.
