The United Arab Emirates is rapidly expanding its tourism sector, with nearly one million individuals expected to be employed in the industry by the end of 2025, according to the latest report from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
This growth represents an addition of over 26,000 jobs compared to 2024, reflecting the UAE’s strong post-pandemic recovery and ongoing investments in the travel industry.

- International visitor spending is projected to reach AED 228.5 billion in 2025—a 37% increase from 2019.
- Total tourism contribution to the UAE’s economy is expected to hit AED 267.5 billion, making up nearly 13% of GDP.
- Domestic travel is also thriving, with local tourist spending set to rise to AED 60 billion, marking a 47% increase since 2019.
WTTC President Julia Simpson praised the UAE’s approach, citing smart infrastructure, world-class hospitality, and streamlined visa policies as key drivers of success.

Dubai welcomed 18.72 million international visitors in 2024, showing a 9% year-on-year increase. Looking ahead, UAE’s tourism industry is expected to contribute nearly AED 287.8 billion to the economy by 2035, employing over one million people.
