The government has greenlit a Rs. 580 million infrastructure project to construct the Datta-Kotkay Bypass, a strategic road that will connect the Karakoram Highway with the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road. The bypass is designed to ease traffic congestion in Mansehra and provide a faster, more efficient route for tourists traveling to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Approved by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, the initiative is expected to significantly enhance regional mobility and promote tourism across Kaghan Valley and surrounding areas.

At the inauguration of a newly built government middle school in Huddobandi, PTI’s provincial deputy president Kamal Saleem Swati hailed the bypass as a transformative step for local connectivity. He emphasized the government’s commitment to long-overdue development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public welfare.

“This road will save time, reduce traffic jams, and open new avenues for trade and tourism,” he said.

In addition, Rs. 100 million has been allocated from the KP Assembly Speaker’s development fund for constructing farm-to-market roads and pavements in Safada village council.
