Punjab's First Govt Autism School to Provide Free Support to Children with Special Needs

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently announced the launch of Pakistan's first government-operated autism school in Lahore. This initiative aims to provide support and alleviate the financial strain on parents of children with autism.

The school will offer free treatment and specialized care to children with autism. CM Maryam has committed to completing the project within a year to ensure families receive timely assistance.

In addition to the autism school, the government plans to enhance special education throughout the province. Ten autism units will be established in various institutions to offer more targeted support.

Moreover, 28 existing special education schools will be upgraded to centers of excellence, improving the quality of education and resources available for children with special needs.

The government is organizing a special job fair to assist differently-abled students in finding job opportunities. This initiative seeks to empower these students by providing employment opportunities and financial independence.

These actions demonstrate the Punjab government's dedication to enhancing the lives of children with special needs by ensuring they receive proper education, care, and future opportunities.
