Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for the immediate finalization of Pakistan’s new industrial policy, emphasizing its importance in revitalizing the manufacturing sector and driving export-led growth.

Chairing a high-level meeting on June 19, 2025, the Prime Minister directed authorities to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the policy addresses long-standing challenges and supports sustainable industrial development.

Highlighting the industrial sector as a cornerstone of the national economy, he stressed the need to equip local industries with skilled labor and modern technology that meets international standards. He also noted that tariff rationalization would be a key tool in attracting investment and enhancing competitiveness.

“Unstable industrial policies have slowed progress,” he remarked. “With a clear and effective strategy, we can unlock the full potential of our industrial base.”

During the session, officials presented recommendations aimed at reviving domestic manufacturing and strengthening investor confidence. The Prime Minister was briefed on how the upcoming policy would serve as a catalyst for industrial modernization and economic resilience.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, and other senior officials.
