Parking Fees Increased at Islamabad Airport, Sparking Public Frustration

By Rija Sohaib  August 27, 2025
Islamabad International Airport has revised its parking charges upward, triggering widespread concern among travelers and their families.
Under the new pricing structure, the fee for the first three hours has jumped from Rs 90 to Rs 120, while each additional hour now costs Rs 70, up from Rs 50. The hike has led to frequent disputes between passengers and parking contractors, with many calling the increase “unjustified” and “inconvenient,” especially for those making short visits to drop off or receive loved ones.
Concerns over illegal parking have also resurfaced, as some travelers seek ways to avoid the higher costs.
Efforts are underway to obtain an official statement from Pakistan Airports Authority spokesperson Saifullah Khan, who has yet to comment on the decision.
