Pakistan Unveils First Women-Only Software Technology Park in Azad Jammu & Kashmir

Published: September 18, 2025
In a landmark move to empower women in tech, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, has launched the country’s first Women Software Technology Park (WSTP) at the Women’s University in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Spanning 5,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility is exclusively designed to support women professionals and entrepreneurs in the IT sector. Developed in collaboration with the Special Communications Organization (SCO-AJK) and the Women’s University of AJK, the park represents a 31 million rupee investment in inclusive innovation.
The WSTP offers secure, ICT-enabled office space and is now open to IT and IT-enabled Services (ITeS) companies. To mark its soft launch, PSEB will host an Open House Session on September 23, 2025, inviting stakeholders to explore opportunities and submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs).
This initiative is a cornerstone of PSEB’s broader strategy to foster gender equality, entrepreneurship, and regional development. By establishing the park in Bagh—a region historically underserved in terms of tech infrastructure—PSEB aims to reduce geographic and social barriers, enabling women to thrive locally without relocating to urban centers.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the WSTP is expected to catalyze job creation, skill development, and innovation-driven growth in AJK. It joins PSEB’s expanding network of Software Technology Parks, which now offers over 1.9 million square feet of IT-enabled space to more than 350 firms nationwide.
