
Pakistan Prioritizes Chinese Investments Over Aid: Aurangzeb
Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, during the Boao Forum for Asia 2025 in China, reiterated Pakistan's strategic focus on transitioning from Chinese aid to fostering investments and technical partnerships.
In an interview with CGTN Urdu, Aurangzeb underlined agriculture, artificial intelligence, and technology as pivotal areas for future Chinese investments. He praised the success of infrastructure and energy projects completed under the Belt and Road Initiative, emphasizing their role as a testament to effective cooperation.
The Finance Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s initiatives to rejuvenate its agriculture sector. He referenced Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to China last year, during which advancements like vertical farming and specialized agricultural education were explored. As part of this endeavor, 1,000 Pakistani students and agricultural professionals will soon receive training and skill development opportunities in China.
Aurangzeb further acknowledged China's leadership in green projects and environmental sustainability, expressing Pakistan’s aspiration to adopt similar initiatives to drive progress.
