Pakistan’s mobile internet landscape continues to expand, with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) reporting a surge of 1.38 million new 3G/4G users in June 2025. This brings the total number of mobile broadband users to 146.05 million, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation.

Key Highlights from the Report

  • Mobile broadband penetration rose from 58.62% to 59.1%
  • Jazz leads the 4G race with 54.5 million users, having fully phased out 3G
  • Zong, Telenor, and Ufone continue steady growth in 4G adoption
  • Teledensity saw a slight dip from 81.1% to 81.05%, suggesting market saturation in urban areas

Digital Inclusion & Future Outlook
The shift toward faster 4G networks is enabling broader access to e-commerce, online education, mobile banking, and e-governance. However, the report notes that future growth hinges on expanding coverage to rural and underserved regions, improving affordability, and enhancing service quality.

This steady rise in mobile broadband users reflects Pakistan’s commitment to building a digitally inclusive economy—but sustaining momentum will require strategic collaboration between policymakers and telecom operators.
