LESCO to Launch Energy-Efficient Fans to Reduce Bills
Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) is launching a program to distribute energy-efficient inverter fans to consumers, aimed at reducing electricity consumption. The initiative plans to replace 80 million conventional fans with inverter fans, significantly cutting down energy usage.
The proposal has been submitted to LESCO’s Board of Directors (BoD) for approval. Once approved, an agreement with the National Energy Conservation Authority (NECA) will be signed to commence distribution.
Consumers will be able to purchase these inverter fans, designed to lower electricity usage. Government officials are also reviewing LESCO’s electricity bill records from the past three years to analyze consumption trends before implementation.
The initiative is projected to save around 5,000 megawatts of electricity annually, alleviating pressure on the national power grid. Traditional fans, due to their outdated motor designs, consume more energy compared to the efficient inverter fans.
To facilitate the transition, the government plans to offer easy installment plans for purchasing these fans. Further details on participation will be announced by LESCO once the program is finalized.
