Islamabad to Launch Cable Cars and Chairlifts for Tourism Growth

The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has directed officials to initiate preparations for a cable car and chairlift system connecting Daman-e-Koh and Saidpur. This project is anticipated to enhance tourism and contribute significantly to Islamabad's economic development through the revenue it generates.
The CDA chief also called for the swift allocation of developed plots in Sector E-12 to rightful owners after Eidul Fitr, contingent on dues clearance.
During separate meetings with a delegation of Chinese consultants and key CDA officials, including those from Planning, Finance, and Environment departments, Randhawa emphasized the cable car and chairlift as potential flagship attractions to boost tourism. He asserted that revenues from these projects would be reinvested in city development, highlighting the importance of detailed feasibility studies and meticulous planning for their successful execution.
The Chinese delegation expressed their support for the initiative, offering technical expertise to help ensure its success.
In related developments, Randhawa set a deadline of June for completing infrastructure in Sector C-14, coordinating with IESCO to supply electricity. For Sector I-12, he ordered immediate cleanup and completion of outstanding projects.
Additionally, he reviewed the progress in Sectors C-15 and C-16, committing to personal site visits to address and resolve any arising issues efficiently
