Global Mail Disruption: Pakistan and 24 Nations Suspend US Dispatches
Pakistan Post has temporarily halted all mail services to the United States following new duties imposed by Washington on international mail. The move comes in response to Executive Order No. 14324, which revoked the longstanding duty-free status for incoming mail, triggering widespread disruption.
Effective July 25, all international mail to the US is now subject to taxes and duties, prompting airlines to refuse mail shipments and postal services across 25+ countries—including China, UK, Japan, India, and Germany—to suspend operations.
The Universal Postal Union (UPU) is currently in talks with US authorities to resolve the issue and restore global mail flows.
