Fitrana and Fidya Rates Announced for Ramadan 2025

The Islamic Ideological Council has officially declared the Fitrana (charitable almsgiving) and Roza Fidya (compensation for missed fasts) rates for Ramadan 2025.

The minimum Fitrana amount per individual is set at Rs220, based on the current wheat prices. Contributors choosing to use other food items have the following rates: Rs1,650 for dates, Rs2,500 for raisins, and Rs5,000 for dried apricots. These rates ensure that Fitrana and Fidya align with one's financial capacity. It is imperative that Fitrana, a mandatory charity for every Muslim, is distributed before Ramadan ends.

The council also specified Fidya payments for 30 missed fasts: Rs6,600 for wheat, Rs13,500 for barley, Rs49,500 for dates, Rs75,000 for raisins, and Rs150,000 for dried apricots. Additionally, the penalty for intentionally breaking a fast (Kaffara) involves fasting for 60 continuous days or providing two meals to 60 underprivileged individuals.

An alternative rate of Rs160 is available for those who purchase government-subsidized wheat flour for their Fitrana and Fidya contributions.
