Fast Track Passport Issuance Expanded to 47 Cities in Pakistan
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced the expansion of its Fast Track passport service, aiming to make passport issuance quicker and more accessible across Pakistan.
Initially available in 21 cities, the service now includes a total of 47 cities, ensuring faster processing for citizens nationwide. The expanded service network covers major cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, as well as smaller towns and regional areas.
The newly added cities include Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kohat, Swabi, and Swat, among others. Northern cities such as Abbottabad, Haripur, and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Kotli, have also been included.
This expansion is part of the government's initiative to ensure citizens have easier access to passport services across the country.
In addition to the Fast Track service expansion, two NADRA mega centers in Karachi have begun operating 24/7 to cater to passport needs. Located at Siemens Chowrangi and North Nazimabad, these centers feature multiple counters for processing, distribution, and approval of passports. The centers are designed to handle high volumes of applications efficiently, with staff available to assist applicants at all hours.
The Directorate General has also addressed the backlog of pending passport applications. According to Director General Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the backlog has been cleared, ensuring smoother passport services moving forward. This development is expected to reduce waiting times and improve overall service delivery for citizens applying for or renewing their passports.
