Amazon Sees Significant Growth in Germany and the UK

Last year, Amazon outpaced the ecommerce market growth in Germany and the United Kingdom. Its revenue reached €39.6 billion in Germany and €36.7 billion in the UK. Despite rising competition from Chinese platforms, Amazon's growth accelerated in the UK.

Globally, Amazon's financial annual report shows revenue of €617.5 billion, an 11% increase from 2023, with net profit doubling to over €57.1 billion. Online store sales reached €239.1 billion, while third-party seller services generated €151 billion.

Key growth areas included Amazon Web Services (AWS) and advertising services. In its report, Amazon highlighted net sales from Germany, the UK, and Japan, with the 'Rest of the World' segment growing by 14.5%.

Amazon in Germany: Germany remains Amazon’s most important international market, accounting for 6.4% of total revenue (€40.9 billion). However, growth has slowed compared to 2023. Amazon continues to lead in ecommerce in Germany, outperforming general German ecommerce spending.

Amazon in the United Kingdom: In the UK, Amazon achieved double-digit revenue growth of 12.7%, totaling €37.9 billion. The company saw acceleration in growth, surpassing its global growth rate. Amazon's investment in fast delivery and pickup points has contributed to its resilience and continued leadership in the UK ecommerce market. Over the past year, Amazon delivered over one billion products to Prime members on the day of order or the following day.

Amazon's strategic investments and focus on key markets have enabled it to maintain a strong position in the global ecommerce landscape.
