The Punjab cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has rolled out several significant initiatives, including a Rs30 billion Ramadan relief package and the hiring of approximately 6,000 new constables.
Under the Nigahban Ramadan program, low-income families will receive Rs10,000 each through ATM cards, directly delivered to their homes to simplify the process.
Additionally, the cabinet has launched a new policy to encourage investment in Punjab by streamlining bureaucratic procedures, aiming to transform the province into a hub for industrial growth and development.
Public transportation improvements have also been approved, providing free travel for senior citizens and individuals with special needs. A student travel card will be introduced to make transportation more affordable for students.
In the healthcare sector, Rs580 million has been allocated for the purchase of a cryoablation machine, which will be utilized for advanced cancer treatment.
The government has also committed to upgrading special education centers to enhance accessibility for students with disabilities.
These initiatives demonstrate the Punjab government's dedication to social welfare, economic growth, and improved public services.
