OGRA Launches 'Raahguzar' Mobile App to Help Locate Legal Petrol Stations

In a significant move to modernize Pakistan's oil supply chain and combat illegal fuel stations, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC), has unveiled a new mobile app named 'Raahguzar'.

Leveraging Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, 'Raahguzar' enables users to easily locate legitimate petrol pumps nationwide. Additionally, the app provides a platform for consumers to report unlicensed fuel stations, helping to address issues related to overpricing and substandard fuel quality. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and empower both consumers and regulatory authorities with better control over fuel-related matters.

The official launch event took place in Islamabad, marking the beginning of a broader initiative to digitize the oil sector. By implementing this innovative system, the government seeks to minimize economic losses, improve accountability, and ensure fair practices within the industry.

'Raahguzar' is the first phase of an extensive track-and-trace system designed to strengthen regulatory oversight. The app empowers consumers by providing reliable information, making it more challenging for illegal outlets to operate. This initiative represents a major step towards modernizing Pakistan's oil supply chain and fostering ethical business practices.

By focusing on digital solutions, the app aims to create a more efficient and transparent system that benefits all stakeholders, from consumers to industry professionals. The government hopes this effort will help curb malpractices in the fuel sector and contribute to long-term economic stability.
