
NHA Announces Toll Tax Hike Across Major Motorways and Highways
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced an increase in toll taxes for national highways and motorways, with the revised rates set to take effect from 1 April 2025. This adjustment impacts various vehicle categories, adding to commuting and transportation costs nationwide.
As per the official notification:
- Cars will now be charged Rs. 70.
- Vans will pay Rs. 150.
- Buses will face a charge of Rs. 250.
- Two- and three-axle trucks will pay Rs. 300, while larger trucks will be charged Rs. 550.
Key Motorways Affected:
Several major motorways, including M1 (Islamabad-Peshawar), M3 (Lahore-Abdul Hakeem), M4, M5, M14, and E35, will see the toll tax hike. The updated rates include:
- Islamabad-Peshawar (M1): Toll for cars raised from Rs. 500 to Rs. 550.
- Lahore-Abdul Hakeem (M3): Toll for cars increased from Rs. 700 to Rs. 800.
This marks the second toll increase in a short span of time, raising concerns among commuters and transporters about the growing financial burden. The adjustment is expected to significantly affect travel and transportation costs across the country.
