Israel Launches Airstrikes on Iran, Raising Global Tensions

The Israeli Air Force carried out multiple airstrikes inside Iran on Thursday, marking a significant escalation in regional hostilities. Reports indicate explosions in Tehran, though the exact targets remain unclear.

This development comes as Israel takes unilateral military action without direct U.S. support. Former President Donald Trump voiced opposition to the strike, suggesting that diplomatic negotiations with Iran were still possible. However, it is uncertain whether the attack specifically targeted Iran’s nuclear program.

Emergency Measures in Israel
Following the airstrikes, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared a nationwide state of emergency, warning of potential Iranian retaliation through missile and drone attacks. In response, Israel has imposed restrictions on public gatherings, school activities, and non-essential workplaces.

U.S. Response and Regional Fallout
While the United States reportedly informed some allies about the impending strike, officials emphasized that the U.S. was not involved in the operation. Despite distancing itself from the attack, the U.S. has historically supported Israel in defending against Iranian threats and may do so again if tensions escalate.

Iran has threatened to retaliate against U.S. targets, prompting the withdrawal of diplomats and military personnel from Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Additionally, air defenses at American bases in the Gulf have been reinforced.

With diplomatic talks between the U.S. and Iran scheduled for Sunday, the future of negotiations remains uncertain. The situation continues to evolve, with concerns that further military action could deepen the conflict.
