Imran Khan Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize Once Again
In an unexpected development, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Imran Khan, has been nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize. This nomination was announced by members of the Pakistan World Alliance (PWA), affiliated with Norway's political party, “Partiet Sentrum.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time Imran Khan has been considered for this honor. Back in 2019, he was nominated for his efforts to foster peace in South Asia, particularly between Pakistan and India. His decision to release Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan as a gesture of de-escalation was widely praised and even led to a resolution in the Pakistan parliament endorsing his nomination.
The Nobel Peace Prize selection process is rigorous, with the Norwegian Nobel Committee reviewing hundreds of nominations over an eight-month period before announcing the winner.
