CM Punjab Orders Immediate Action to Control Rising Chicken Prices

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to take swift measures against the surge in chicken prices across the province. During a special session in Lahore, she emphasized the urgency of price stabilization, particularly ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

Alongside poultry prices, CM Maryam underscored the need for strict monitoring of essential vegetables—including tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and lemons—to prevent artificial inflation caused by hoarding.

In a broader effort to control costs, she also ordered action to lower ‘roti’ prices in response to declining flour rates. Furthermore, she urged the Agriculture Department to introduce practical strategies for reducing vegetable transportation costs and promoting off-season cultivation.
