Attock Refinery Halts Main Distillation Unit Due to Low Crude Stocks

Attock Refinery Limited (PSX: ATRL) has temporarily shut down its main crude distillation unit, citing insufficient crude oil supplies. The unit, which has a capacity of 32,400 BPSD, will remain offline until June 1, 2025, as announced in the company’s stock exchange filing.

The refinery has been facing reduced crude deliveries from local oilfields, primarily due to persistently high system pressure in SNGPL’s pipeline network caused by imported LNG. This forced curtailment of gas production has further impacted domestic crude oil output, affecting supply chains.

ATRL, a subsidiary of The Attock Oil Company Limited (England), operates in petroleum refining, with Coral Holding Limited (Malta) as its ultimate parent entity.
