Alibaba Unveils Qwen 2.5-Max AI Model, Claims Superior Performance Over DeepSeek-V3
Alibaba has launched its latest AI model, Qwen 2.5-Max, asserting that it outperforms DeepSeek's AI model, DeepSeek-V3.
Alibaba has unveiled its latest AI model, Qwen 2.5-Max, with claims that it outperforms DeepSeek's DeepSeek-V3 model.
The launch coincides with the Lunar New Year, signaling Alibaba's response to DeepSeek’s recent advancements. DeepSeek’s AI assistant has gained traction in Silicon Valley for its lower development costs.
As a result, competition among Chinese tech giants, including ByteDance and Alibaba, has intensified. Despite this, DeepSeek’s founder, Liang Wenfeng, emphasizes their focus on developing artificial general intelligence (AGI) rather than competing on price. AGI aims to create AI systems that can think and learn like humans. Wenfeng also acknowledged the limitations even the largest tech companies face in advancing AI technology.
